MEET OUR STAFF

Krystle Roherty
-Owner

For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working as an educator, where I’ve built my career around helping young people discover their strengths, push toward their goals, and experience those unforgettable “AH-HA!” breakthrough moments. In 2024, I was incredibly honoured to receive the Minister’s Excellence in Education Award, a recognition that reflects my deep passion for teaching and student success.

My journey has always been rooted in creating opportunities for youth. I’ve contributed to writing the New Brunswick Automotive Curriculum and had the amazing experience of starting and coaching the Females+ high school drag racing team at Fredericton High School. Whether in the classroom, at the track, or now in the gym, my goal has always been the same: help students and athletes believe in themselves and reach their full potential.

Nitro Cheer Athletics was born from two things close to my heart—my love of fast cars and my daughter’s passion for cheer. From that spark, Nitro came to life with a vision of excitement, adrenaline, speed, and focus. With racing-themed team names, fiery uniforms, and a drive for success, we are ready to bring the heat to every practice and competition.

As an educator, I truly believe in supporting the whole athlete. That means going beyond just skills on the mat. At Nitro, we focus on building healthy habits, promoting safe sport practices, and developing strong, confident individuals. Good habits make great athletes, and I’m committed to ensuring our athletes grow in a way that supports both performance and long-term well-being.

Our programs are built with intention—skillfully planned lessons that emphasize technique, proper form, and consistent practice. My goal is to help athletes master their skills safely so they can enjoy and succeed in this sport for years to come.

Community is at the heart of everything I do, and I’m working hard to ensure that same sense of connection and support is felt at Nitro. I want this to be a place where athletes feel encouraged, families feel welcomed, and everyone feels like they belong.

We’re opening this May in Fredericton, and I can’t wait to welcome you into our dynamic, high-energy space. I truly believe that once you experience Nitro, you’ll want to be part of the Nitro Cheer Crew.

🧨Let’s bring the heat!! 🔥

Bailey Rushton
-Program Director

Private Lesson Instructor

Hi, my name is Bailey and I bring over 15 years of experience in cheerleading as both an athlete and coach, having worked with all seven levels.

I have had the pleasure of coaching the acrobatic program at the Atlantic Ballet of Canada and being able to travel internationally to learn from the best coaches in cheerleading.

I fell in love with cheerleading in middle school when my older sister joined her high school cheerleading team. What started as me stretching in my room and teaching my friends how to put me up in a prep during recess turned into so many opportunities and memories. I finally got to start cheerleading when I got to high school, then continued to cheer in university.

I began Allstar Cheerleading after high school where I fell even more in love with the sport. From there, I began to coach full time, run tumbling programs, and was fortunate enough to take part at the Cheerleading Worlds twice.

I love this sport because of how complex it is, and how beneficial it is to the growth and development of children. Cheerleading has taught me how to work as a team, how to build confidence, and how to face adversity. I know that I wouldn’t be who I am today without this sport. As a coach, there is no better feeling than being able to help an athlete progress and realise their full potential.

What drew me to Nitro Cheer Elite is how well our values lined up in the development and progression of athletes, and the team mentality. It is also a dream of mine to be part of a new gym opening and to be able to create a home away from home for our team. I am so excited to start this adventure and to meet you all!

Alicia Stairs
-Cheer Abilities
Coach
Private Lesson Instructor

Hi! I’m Alicia. I bring 20 years of cheerleading experience as both an athlete and coach, along with a strong background in healthcare that uniquely supports my role as the Adaptive Abilities coach. I have worked with athletes of all ages, from young children to adults, and I am passionate about creating an environment where every athlete feels included, supported, and empowered.

In addition to my cheer experience, I have worked in healthcare since 12th grade. I spent 12 years as a Personal Support Worker and have been a Licensed Practical Nurse for the past 2 years. My medical knowledge, patience, and compassionate approach allow me to provide a safe, understanding, and athlete centered coaching style, especially important when working with athletes of diverse abilities.

As an adaptive cheer coach, I am dedicated to making the sport accessible to everyone. My goal is to create a positive space where athletes can grow not only in skill, but also in self-belief and joy.

I am excited to start coaching the adaptive athletes at Nitro Cheer Elite as it’s giving all kinds of athletes a way to be a part of the cheerleading community and to be a part of a team so they can build their confidence and independence while celebrating each athlete’s unique strengths and achievements.

Mikayla Pirie
-Coach

Private Lesson Instructor

Hi, I’m Mikayla!

I have 8 years of experience in cheer as an athlete; and, fun fact, I finished my time as an athlete competing at the Cheerleading Worlds!

I hold 6 years of experience as a coach – 4 of those years being for cheer and 2 for recreational gymnastics. Along with my cheerleading and coaching experience, I also have experience in childcare, which supports my role as a coach among other things. I understand how important building positive relationships and understanding child development is!

With me, I not only bring knowledge of the sport and love for teaching, I also bring my love and passion for all things cheer. I fell in love with cheerleading the second I stepped foot on the mat, but it is so much more than a sport to me. Through it, I have grown as an individual, a leader, and have built lifelong friendships. The love and appreciation I have for this sport and community show in my coaching style as I guide, support, and celebrate athletes’ progress/growth and accomplishments.

I look forward to working with Nitro and getting to be a part of the beginning of something big. I am so excited to join this community as a coach and cannot wait to meet you all!

Marlee McCormac
-Coach

Hi! My name is Marlee, and I’ve been a cheerleader for a total of 7 years, with a few breaks along the way. Cheer has always been something I’ve come back to because of how much I genuinely love the sport and the environment that comes with it.

I decided to apply to Nitro because I’ve been out of cheer for the past two years and have really been wanting to get back into it. So it felt like the perfect opportunity to return to something I’m passionate about.

What I love most about cheer is the feeling when you’re backstage, nervous and excited at the same time, waiting to be called onto the mat. Even though it’s terrifying, you know you have your girls beside you, supporting you and pushing you to do your best. That bond and trust in each other is something really special, and it’s what keeps bringing me back to cheer.

I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Brooke Payne
-Coach

Hi everyone! I’m Brooke,

I’m so excited to join the Nitro team as a coach this season. My cheerleading journey started in high school and continued with the Reds at the University of New Brunswick. Over four years, I had the chance to compete with amazing athletes and coaches, and it was an honor to serve as team captain this past year.

During my time with the Reds, I grew so much as a leader and teammate. I set goals, stayed focused, and realized how powerful this sport can be. I love cheer because it is more than just a routine. It is a way to challenge yourself, connect with others, and build confidence every day. Coaching gymnastics also gave me a better understanding of technique and flexibility, and it showed me how small steps lead to big results.

I’m really excited to see all the creativity and hard work that Nitro will bring to the community. I want to create an environment where every athlete feels welcome, where they can push themselves, celebrate their progress, and enjoy every step of the way.

Nitro is such a positive place, and I’m so thrilled to be part of its growth. I can’t wait to meet all of you, share my passion, and build a fun, supportive environment where we can all grow together!

Kaylyn Rose
-Coach

Hi everyone! I’m Kaylyn, and I’m so excited to be joining the Nitro team!

I bring 13 years of cheerleading experience, including 10 years in all-star cheer and 3 years at the university level. One of my favourite accomplishments was winning Nationals in Niagara Falls in 2018 with my team.

Cheer has been a huge part of my life and has shaped who I am both on and off the mat. In 2018, I also had the opportunity to begin coaching an adaptive abilities team, which showed me how much I love helping athletes grow, build confidence, and succeed in their own way.

Outside of cheer, I recently completed my degree in Social Work and am now working in the field. Through this, I’ve developed strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive approach that I bring into my coaching.

As a coach, I value creating a positive, high-energy environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and confident in themselves. You can expect lots of encouragement, structure, and a focus on both skill development and having fun!

I’m so excited to get started and be part of this amazing community—I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Keira Plourd
-Coach

Hey everyone my name is Keira ! I’m so excited to join the team as a coach here at Nitro!

My cheer journey has been an incredible ride. I’ve had the privilege of competing at Worlds three times as a level 6 athlete and at Summit on a level 4 team, which has been an unforgettable experience. In 2020, I was also selected to be part of the NB Goodwill Cheer Tour in Cuba, which was such an amazing opportunity. I’ve cheered highschool for 4 years and All-Star for 9 years. Along my journey I’ve gotten the opportunities to have had the chance to cheer on the sidelines for CFL and Atlantic Slam basketball in Moncton.

Cheer has always been more than just a sport to me; it’s a passion that I’ve dedicated my heart and soul to. I’m driven to help athletes not only grow in skill but also fall in love with this sport as much as I have.

In addition to all my experiences, I’ve been coaching for 2 years, including working with the All Adaptive Ability team and teaching tumbling and cheer fundamentals to younger athletes. As a coach, I’m all about being your biggest hype person. You’ll always hear me mat talking and screaming for you at competitions – my energy is all in!

I can’t wait to continue sharing my love for cheer in this new environment and helping athletes grow and shine! Let’s get to work!

Taylor MacNeil
-Coach

Hi! My name is Taylor!

I have been involved in cheerleading for 6 years and fell in love with the sport from the moment I stepped into the gym. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to train and compete at Levels 2–4, and have competed across both Canada and the United States. Cheer has been such a meaningful part of my life—not just as a sport, but as a space for growth, connection, and confidence.

In addition to my athletic experience, I bring my background in counselling into my coaching style. I’m passionate about supporting athletes not only in their skills, but in building confidence, resilience, compassion, and strong team connections. I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where every athlete feels seen, encouraged, and capable.

Cheerleading has also been something incredibly special in my personal life—it gave me the chance to bond with my mom, and now I’m excited to carry that forward with my own daughter. Although we’re just about to celebrate her first birthday, she’s already well on her way to becoming a true “gym baby”!

I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Stefannie Campbell
-Coach

Hi, I’m Stefannie!

I began my cheerleading journey in middle school in 2002, where I quickly discovered a deep passion for the sport. In 2005, I joined my first All-Star team, starting at Junior Level 1 and progressing to Senior Level 3. I trained and competed through 2009, while also spending a short season on my high school team before relocating mid-season, which brought my competitive cheer career to a close.

Fast forward to 2017, when my daughter started on a tiny U4 team, and just like that—I fell in love with cheer all over again. I jumped in as a team mom for her U8 team and stayed involved through multiple U12 seasons after we moved to Fredericton in 2019. Being on the sidelines (and sometimes behind the scenes!) showed me a whole new side of the sport I love.

In the 2025 season, I took things even further—coaching toddler tumble classes, assistant coaching a U12 Prep team, AND stepping back onto the mat myself on an Open 4.2 team 💪✨

Cheer has always been a huge part of my life, and now I get to share that passion with the next generation. There’s nothing better than watching athletes grow their confidence, hit new skills, and fall in love with cheer just like I did ❤️
